Vietnamese woman Nguyen Thi Phuong now looks like a septugenarian after the   rapid aging affliction took hold following an allergic reaction to seafood.

I would think they wouldn’t have to resort to this kind of shady bussiness practices. They made enough money with the rake they charged from every hand of poker and tournement that they ran.  Full Tilt even sent out an email explaining how they treated players funds. Two people have been seriously wounded in two separate shark attacks while swimming in the Sea of Japan off Russia’s Far Eastern coast.
In incidents that local experts said had no historical precedent in the area, a 25-year-old man was attacked by a shark on Wednesday, while a 16-year-old boy was mauled by a shark on Thursday.
In the first attack, a tourist named as Denis Udovenko was attacked while swimming with his wife in a marine nature reserve and reportedly tried to wrestle with the shark in order to buy time for his wife to swim to safety.
The shark bit both of his arms off from the elbow down however and he is reported to be in a serious condition in hospital.

Was surfing around the net and saw a headline that casino employees were forced to wear flee collars because the casino floor was infested by flees. Who the hell would go to this casino if they have this problem and why would the employees put up with this crap?

Here is waht the story says. workers at a casino in New Zealand’s largest city have been forced to wear flea collars to work in a bid to ward off fleas. The alarming report follows news of similar infestations forcing nurses at some Auckland hospitals to adopt a similar course of action in December – sparking a warning from health authorities against humans wearing the pet collars, which emit toxins, the New Zealand Herald reported today.

Employees at SkyCity Casino were spraying themselves with insect repellent and wearing pet flea collars around their ankles to ward off fleas, according to Unite Union national director Mike Treen.

He said staff had been complaining about infestations on the casino floor “for years” and that although the business had been undertaking a cleaning process, “it doesn’t seem to be working”. [Source]

This rash of tectonic movements around the Pacific “Rim of Fire” is heightening concern that Japan – the most earthquake-prone country in the world – is next in line for a major earthquake.

Those concerns have been stoked by the unexplained appearance of a fish that is known traditionally as the Messenger from the Sea God’s Palace.

The giant oarfish can grow up to five metres in length and is usually to be found at depths of 1,000 metres and very rarely above 200 metres from the surface. Long and slender with a dorsal fin the length of its body, the oarfish resembles a snake.

In recent weeks, 10 specimens have been found either washed ashore or in fishing nets off Ishikawa Prefecture, half-a-dozen have been caught in nets off Toyama Prefecture and others have been reported in Kyoto, Shimane and Nagasaki prefectures, all on the northern coast.

According to traditional Japanese lore, the fish rise to the surface and beach themselves to warn of an impending earthquake – and there are scientific theories that bottom-dwelling fish may very well be susceptible to movements in seismic fault lines and act in uncharacteristic ways in advance of an earthquake – but experts here are placing more faith in their constant high-tech monitoring of the tectonic plates beneath the surface.

“In ancient times Japanese people believed that fish warned of coming earthquakes, particularly catfish,” Hiroshi Tajihi, deputy director of the Kobe Earthquake Centre, told the Daily Telegraph.

“But these are just old superstitions and there is no scientific relationship between these sightings and an earthquake,” he said.

The UK Telegraph is reporting that a possible image of the lost city of Atlantis has been found using google earth. The image looks like a box of square grid lines like you only see on man made structures. It is pretty interesting, but I have seen these types of images before. The one that comes to mind is a similar google earth image off the coast of the Bahamas.

The network of criss-cross lines is 620 miles off the coast of north west Africa near the Canary Islands on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.

The perfect rectangle – which is around the size of Wales – was noticed on the search giant’s underwater exploration tool by an aeronautical engineer who claims it looks like an “aerial map” of a city.

The underwater image can be found at the co-ordinates 31 15’15.53N 24 15’30.53W.

Last night Atlantis experts said that the unexplained grid is located at one of the possible sites of the legendary island, which was described by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato.

This has got to be some kind of publicity stunt. I was just surfing the net and saw a report that Jimmy Carter was being sued for criticizing Israel in his book. In his book he writes, “that Israel was not inherently reasonable and Syria was not inherently unreasonable.” What do you get from that statement? I read it as nobody is ever truly 100% right or wrong, there are always two sides to the story.

In a move that calls back to the attempt by Texas cattlemen to sue Oprah Winfrey for “defamation of beef.” an Israeli lawyer has filed a class-action lawsuit against former President Jimmy Carter, seeking $5 million in damages because his book “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid” allegedly defamed Israel.

Attorney Nitsana Darshan-Leitner insisted that Carter’s book violated New York State’s Consumer Protection Laws by asserting things, largely that Israel was not inherently reasonable and Syria was not inherently unreasonable, that “even a child” knows is untrue.

The suit went on to condemn Carter, saying he had an “agenda of anti-Israel propaganda” and condemned publisher Simon and Shuster for advertising the book as a work on non-fiction. The legal complaint insists Carter has the right to publish a book “to put forward his virulent anti-Israel bias” but insisted that such a book could only be sold as a work of fiction.

In a video message aired by one of his TV channels last night, Berlusconi said he had been quietly dating a woman, whom he did not name, since his marriage broke down.

“This person has obviously been with me rather often, including – and I underline this – on those evenings and certainly would not have allowed, at dinner or after dinner, those absurd goings-on that certain newspapers have hypothesised,” he said.

Witnesses have reportedly told investigators that topless women dressed as nurses and police officers performed stripteases for Berlusconi in the “bunga bunga” room at his mansion during parties held in 2010 and vied with each other to be asked to stay the night.

Police on Friday raided the apartments of around 14 alleged habitués of the parties, finding sex toys and thousands of euros in cash.

Speaking from a studio at the mansion, its shelves lined with photos of his family, Berlusconi likened the operation to a mafia roundup, claiming that the only crime committed by the women was “to give me friendship and affection” during the “elegant” and “tranquil” soirees that gave him the chance to communicate with young people.
