Sarah Palin Criticized For Her Obesity Comments
Surprise! Sarah Palin opened her mouth and the main stream media is criticizing every word she said….again. First let’s see what Sarah said that the liberal media is so upset about.
In an interview recently with conservative talk radio personality, Laura Ingraham, Palin said, “And I know I’m going to be again criticized for bringing this up, but instead of a government thinking that they need to take over and make decisions for us according to some politician or politician’s wife priorities, just leave us alone, get off our back and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track.”
So there you have it, and as soon as she said them, the main stream liberal media jumped all over her. How anyone can find fault in wha t she said is beyond me. I guess the real problem they have is that they were directed towards the first lady and the Obama regime because if you take the comments at face value, there’s nothing wrong with what she said, it’s just that they came from Sarah Palin. The woman every liberal loves to hate.
If I were Sarah Paline I’d tell her liberal critics, don’t worry, the way the Obama regime is destroying our economy, you won’t have to worry about child obesity, the price of food will be so high, no one will be able to afford to feed their kids.

jo ann – Her comment in and of itself isn’t wrong-its actually a great qoute, but within the context of her speech,it’s misguided. She critisized Michelle Obama for this anti obesity thing she is on. This “kick” she calls it. As if childhood obesity were some harmless passing phase. Its a serious problem that so many children are suffering from diabetes at an early age-diabetes can kill you! Its easily prevented by good eating habits and excercise. That’s exactly what the “let’s move” campaign encourages. Furthermore, because it affects the country as a whole-from the medical costs associated with obesity to the health of our citizens, its responsible and appropriate for OUR government to get involved and encourage prevention. That’s not fascism or socialism, that’s just common sense.
ogre – hey jo ann…first of all learn to spell. Second, it’s not governments job to protect us from ourselves. If my kid wants to get fat, fine…thats between me and him. If its anyones duty to keep my kid healthy it is mine, not some government bureaucracy
Phil – Ogre, then let’s retroactively dismantle the government’s attempts to protect us from ourselves. Let’s put lead back in paint. After all it’s not the government’s job to protect your kid’s heath, it’s yours. And that seatbelt thing ? WAY too intrusive. They have to go. As do those airbags in cars. It’s your right, by GOD, to buy your own motorized coffin. How dare the “gubmint” stick it’s nose in your business ! And those job-killing regulations keeping cancer causing chemicals like PCB out of our drinking water ? Those just won’t do ! They infringe upon your RIGHTS !!!! Ogre, this is not a nation of 300 million individuals with no responsibility to each other. It’s a society. We work together to accomplish things we cannot do on our own. Your selfishness is the same behavior that two-year-olds exhibit, believing that they are the center of the universe, and it’s emblematic of today’s so called “conservative.”
